Stephen Curry is undoubtedly one of Golden State’s most talented players. He has won 3 NBA championships, 2 NBA MVP awards, and is a 6 time NBA all star. He started his career in 2009 after being drafted to the Golden State Warriors, and has played for the team since then.
Curry is known for popularizing the regular use of the 3-point shot. He has also been named one of the greatest shooters in NBA history for this reason.
During Curry’s 2015-16 season, he scored a total of 2,375 points, which remains his highest point total per season thus far. During this season he was awarded his second MVP award for his incredible performance. He averaged just about 30.1 points per game across 79 games, and set a new NBA record for three point field goals, scoring 401 across this season.
Curry’s low numbers during the 2011-12 season can be due to the NBA lockout that delayed the season from November 1st to December 25th. During this season Curry also suffered an ankle injury that forced him to sit out another 40 games. He ended up playing 24 games total, averaging 14.7 points per game that season.
Luckily, the subsequent lockdown and ankle injuries did not slow Curry down during his next season. He returned to the court in 2012 and averaged 22.9 points per game, which was a career high at the time.
Stephen Curry continues to set records and is changing the way basketball is played for the better. Many predict he will win the 2019-20 MVP title, which if won would be his 3rd NBA MVP award.
